Launched in October 2015, the Institut de formation et de recherche agroalimentaire (Agri-food Research and Training Institute – IFRA) aims to instil new life in agri-food research and training in Eastern Ontario. The Institute collaborates with the Ferme d’éducation et de recherche du campus d’Alfred (Alfred Campus Research and Education Farm – FERCA) to support your animal and vegetable production projects.

The IFRA can assist your organization in developing and carrying out your project by using La Cité College’s expertise.

The CAT-B team is made up of researchers, technologists and students offering vast expertise in four sectors:

  • The Research and Innovation Office (RIO), which coordinates all of La Cité’s applied research activities.
  • The Bio-innovation Technology Access Centre (CAT-B), which supports businesses in the fields of biofuels, bioprocessing, and cosmetic and biopharmaceutical products while collaborating with IFRA on plant, seed and agri-food projects.
  • La Cité des affaires, which specializes in custom training programs for businesses and on site.

La Cité’s Agri-food Research and Training Institute (IFRA) is at the very heart of Prescott and Russell’s agri-food development.

The IFRA is your research, innovation and development partner for:

  • Animal production
  • Plant production
  • Horticulture
  • Nutrition management
  • Food transformation
